June 22nd (BT 4PM): By Special Request

theprestonjames:

Preston walked into the cool bakery with one of his awkward, excited smiles, and realized he was the only one there besides Anna. He was eager to see how his special cupcakes had turned out. Preston always liked to mix thing up a little and make something different.

His eyes went straight to Anna, “Good afternoon, Anna.” He still had that stupid, sweet smile on his face and for some reason it wasn’t going anywhere. He had been fishing all day and all of a sudden he became self-conscious of the fact that he probably smelt like B-O and fish juice. He smirked a little at this thought, Well I guess it’s to late to run away now. So he continued to walk towards the table Anna was sitting at, “Soo….How did those rainbow cakes turn out? And if it isn’t to much to ask I found another recipe that could be popular.”

Anna smiled when she recognized Preston. She had spoken to him online and he had sent her a picture of a rainbow cupcake. Anna wasn’t one for adventures, but she did enjoy a challenge. There wasn’t much that gave her the thrill of proving that she could do something that people didn’t expect her to be able to do.

“And the same to you, Preston,” she said with a smile. She liked that that was the first thing he had said to her in person. It made her feel cool to respond that way. It was sort of mysterious.

“Your timing is perfect,” she said, still feeling like a Bond girl. “I just took them out of the oven. You’ll have to wait a while for them to cool off though. So I can frost them.”

“You can sit down if you want,” she said, trying to sound nonchalant. She gestured towards the chair on the opposite side of the table where she was seated.

June 22nd (BT 4PM): By Special Request

Anna sat down at a table in her cupcake shop, alone apart a battered copy of the Great Gatsby. She liked books, especially old books. She had found this one at a secondhand bookstore four years ago on her first day of college. She preferred things that had belonged to someone else at one point because it was like getting to know a part of their history. Sometimes she wondered about this books previous owner.

A small beeping noise alerted Anna to the completion of the cupcakes she had placed in the oven. She almost danced into the kitchen, her ballet flats clicking on the ground. She took her oven mits off the small hanger on the wall and took the cupcakes out of the oven and left them to cool. They were rainbow. It had been a special request.

She put another batch in to bake, and resumed her place at the small table out on the floor as the door to the shop opened.

May 25th (BT 11PM): It’s Gotta Be Close to Midnight

thatonegirlwiththecar:

Cordelia made a point of finishing off her margarita. She smacked the glass down on the bar, puckering at the tequila. Anna was one of those bright eyed sort of people. The ones who are all sunshine and smiles and dreams and nothing bad in the world. Those kind of bullcrap people usually annoyed the shit out of Cordelia. Yet she found it as a somewhat endearing quality in Anna. Maybe she needed more bright eyed people in her life.

It was an opportunity to have fun and Anna was somebody that Cordy actually liked by some crazy happenstance, “Fun huh?”

She grabbed her by the hand, pulling her up and off the barstool. With some weirdly determined effort she brought Anna and Priestly’s beer over to him.

“We’re going to dance,” she said as sort of demand.

Anna swayed slightly as Cordy pulled her off of her seat, and followed her without paying much attention to where they were going. Everyone was just so lovely here. People were so nice. Anna loved everyone in this bar. She giggled to herself. This was fun.

“Dance?” she said, trying to balance on the back of her heels. “I don’t think I know how though…”

She trailed off and broke into a smile as the music changed.

“I know this song!” she said, spinning on her heel to face Cordy. “I’ll figure out how to dance, especially for you!”

Anna started to sway along to the music, hoping she didn’t look too ridiculous.
